This incredibly awesome A-frame cabin is yet another small house of my dreams. Only thing that this one is missing for me is an upstairs balcony like this A-frame has that’s on the same property. I would design and build something modeled off of this design in a heartbeat on my own land with no mortgage somewhere in the woods to live simply and write passionately out of. How about you? Would you live here? Would you build something similar to this or are A-frames not your thing?
This cabin is available for rent near Yosemite in case you’d like to stay here on one of your future vacations. It rents out for $275/night. This cabin is also on the property. More info here.

This modern A-frame cabin in Yosemite is absolutely one of my all time favorite homes. I already love A-frames and this one’s modern touch along with its natural look and feel just makes it all even better for me. Also the upstairs bedroom with private balcony seals the deal for me. Notice the custom staircase too (no safety rails, though). It reminds me of the $11k Zen Cabin in the woods I showed you the other day. Anyways this A-frame is a vacation cabin in Sierra National Forest near Yosemite that you can stay in. They say it’s like a private Yosemite (without the crowds). It rents for about $275 a night. More info on rates here. There’s also another A-frame and a log cabin on the property, too.

To me these little cabins are funky, traditional and zen all-in-one…
They’re actually used as hotels that are part of a family owned resort in Luce, Slovenia where the owners are passionate about cooking traditionally.
Yet they are always in search for new ideas for recipes so that they can satisfy their traveller customers who come to stay in their beautiful custom built micro cabin getaways.
The cabins are near the Savinja River (part of the Alpine rivers) with rapids, clear water pools, and more. I encourage you to learn more about this seemingly wonderful place here. Rate info is available here.

This tiny vacation home is just 8 minutes away from Downtown Healdsburg and is situated next to a large pond in a 52 acre redwood forest with trailers.
And you’re only about 200 feet from a road that leads to 34 Dry Creek Valley wineries. This would be a pretty sweet vacation as well as a chance to try out living tiny before seriously investing any time or money into a project of your own.

I thought you’d just love this micro cabin / gypsy wagon set up for you to rent and vacation in over at the Avalanche Ranch in Redstone, Colorado.
The wagons are like ‘fancy camping’ according to their site because they have a mattress inside with a coffee maker, teas, towels, BBQ grill and picnic table nearby.
There are no kitchens or bathrooms and they’re located right by the hot spring pools so there are showers and bathrooms you can use there.

Alright it’s not really a tiny house community like we hope for everyday.
But I can hope, right? It’s actually somewhere you can vacation in. Unfortunately.
It can be a great thing if you wanted to try out small house living. But if you’re looking for a community like this, we’ve still got work to do.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if we can find more ways to begin re-creating 1950’s style communities just like this?
Where the houses are humble and simple. You can walk places and you know your neighbors.
