If you’ve been thinking about building or buying a tiny house on a trailer and want to travel with it, have you ever considered something like this instead? I point it out just because it’s lighter, smaller and in general just easier (and cheaper) to tow around than stick built home on wheels. And with some effort you can really take an old vintage trailer and turn it into something like this. For more photos and info on this pink Holiday House travel trailer go here.
“The Opera is a mobile designer suite in a class of her own. Within minutes, she will show you her characteristic outlines, resting firmly on her legs in a level position. The teak veranda is an invitation for you to come on board, where you’ll be amazed by the luxury and detail. Such as the two electrically adjustable beds that can easily be transformed into one. Or the boiler supplying warm water to the kitchen, the fountain and the (exterior) shower. The hot air heating.
The ceramic toilet. The top loading refrigerator. The low-energy LED lighting from awning to floor. The Opera offers you the convenience of a complete holiday home.” (Source)
Check out this funky and lightweight travel trailer. I’m pretty sure it is made out of fiberglass which means that it may be possible to tow this with even the lightest of vehicles.
It would be nice to have when going on a trip somewhere, instead of booking a hotel you could set out somewhere safe and cozy and enjoy your vacation in nature.
Not the type of shelter you would want to live out of because I don’t think there’s enough space for that, but it certainly does the trick for vacationing. I mean, I guess if you were super minimalist you could live here. But that’s a little extreme for me these days.
Gotta love the design too… so what would you use this trailer for? If it were up to me, I’d most likely turn it into an office with a sweet view. 🙂
For those of you who love the idea of living in a tiny house but really want to travel around with it you might want to reconsider your options and look at travel trailers like Airstreams.
They’re still very durable and well built. You can even restore an old one if you want. And they’re a lot more aerodynamic and weigh much less so that you get better gas mileage and in general they’re just easy to tow.
