To me these little cabins are funky, traditional and zen all-in-one…
They’re actually used as hotels that are part of a family owned resort in Luce, Slovenia where the owners are passionate about cooking traditionally.
Yet they are always in search for new ideas for recipes so that they can satisfy their traveller customers who come to stay in their beautiful custom built micro cabin getaways.
The cabins are near the Savinja River (part of the Alpine rivers) with rapids, clear water pools, and more. I encourage you to learn more about this seemingly wonderful place here. Rate info is available here.

You Can Buy this Whimsical Floating House
…but it’ll cost you! With an asking price of $450,000. Worth it if you can afford it, I guess.
But the point for me is to show you just how much you can do with such a small amount of space and a lot of creativity.
I’d so much rather have a 740 sq. ft. home like this, on a normal foundation or on a floating one, than any cookie cutter 1200 sq. ft. counterpart. Wouldn’t you? (sorry… dumb question, I know..)

Isn’t this little cottage so fun looking? Seems like anyone who’d step foot near it or in it wouldn’t be able to help but smile. But that might just be me. And you.. I wish we could go inside but unfortunately we can’t.
But while we’re looking at it I’m curious if you’d make your future tiny house anywhere near as colorful as this? I think it helps bring life to the structure for sure. This one looks like it belongs in the Florida Keys. Or here.

This epic tiny cabin is featured in Richard Oldsen‘s Handmade Houses book.
I’m always fanatical about unique structures like this. Vermont seems to be a great place to build small houses like this.
There are not really any building codes so folks can get as creative as they want. I encourage you to order a copy of Richard Oldsen’s book over on Amazon if you want to see more unique and beautiful houses like that in a book you can hold in your hands.

It’s hard for me to tell if this is real or not. It looks like it might be Photoshopped or at least Photoshop enhanced.
Even if it is, the idea is just awesome. I would guess that the materials came from an old recycled barn somewhere and something this funky and unique would only be done by an experienced artist.
Absolutely beautiful. I would use the structure to the right to live in and the other one as some sort of workshop for all of my projects. And I imagine that if this is real, that’s what the owner built it for and uses it for.
But my question is what would you do with it?
